The Eight That Made the House
The Signature Edit is where Umrao began. These eight compositions were the first the house released, and they remain the ones it is measured by.
Each begins with a fable. The perfumer works to the story until the scent carries it, which is why these are not fragrances built to announce a note or a season. They return you to somewhere you have not been, and to a memory that is not quite your own.
The formulas are the work of master perfumers whose craft descends from the Mughal courts, where perfumery was a discipline of patience. The house keeps that pace. A composition leaves the atelier when the perfumer considers it finished, and not before.
Each bottle is presented in a coffret finished by hand in vegan hide and closed with a metal crest. The perfume will be worn, and in time it will be spent. The coffret is meant to remain.
